Reiki is a Japanese healing art that means spiritual energy. Reiki provides a whole system of knowledge to support self healing and personal growth.
The courses offered at the Reiki Healing Society are rooted in a traditional approach to teaching and practicing Reiki. They are great for beginners AND for anyone seeking to understand Reiki prior to Western influence.
You will learn the history and evolution of Reiki as a healing technique and be given a depth of practice to engage with Reiki both for yourself, others and animals.
Each course progresses deeper into the philosophy and practice of Reiki. You have the option to study Reiki online OR in-person, you don’t have to do both.
Course Offerings Rooted in Authenticity
Authentic Japanese Reiki Courses: Level I-III
The Reiki trainings offered at the Reiki Healing Society are grounded in a traditional Japanese approach to learning and practicing Reiki. They are taught in the lineage of Usui Reiki Ryoho. These courses are great for beginners who want to learn how to practice Reiki and are also suitable for those who have taken a Western Reiki course before and want to understand Reiki as it was taught by Usui Sensei prior to Western influence.
I also offer one hybrid course, Advanced Reiki Training, that deviates from a traditional Japanese approach to offer a bridge between both Eastern and Western lineages of Reiki. In this training, you will learn useful skills and applications of Reiki which will allow you to use Reiki more meaningfully in your life both personally and professionally.

We created this document to raise awareness about the need to address issues of cultural and spiritual appropriation in Reiki. Both of the authors identify as white Americans practicing a Japanese spiritual art, and spend considerable time working with these issues in our own practices and lives.
The work of spiritual appropriation asks us to reflect on how concepts of race, gender and power show up in spiritual communities, specifically Reiki, without assuming that it doesn't. This worksheet offers you an opportunity to think critically about these issues, discover your truth and learn new strategies.
Included in this self reflection and journaling worksheet are examples of cultural and spiritual appropriation in Reiki as well as six strategies that provide you actionable steps to address spiritual appropriation in your Reiki practice and life.
